The Pharmacy Department provides a responsive, patient-focused pharmaceutical and medicines management service to inpatients through a multidisciplinary team approach to ensure optimal, efficient, cost-effective and safe use of medicines.
In addition, the Pharmacy provides parenteral nutrition for neonates, chemotherapy for oncology patients and pharmacy services to dialysis patients, emergency department patients and outpatients. Working with The Oncology Department, the Pharmacy also provides services such as pain control support and advice, symptom control management for patients receiving chemotherapy progressing through to end-of-life care. The Pharmacy supports and educates both nursing staff and patients/relatives alike. Health promotion is at the forefront of the department’s long-term strategy in increasing awareness and encouraging accountability in healthcare.
The Pharmacy is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and provides an on-call pharmacy service outside these hours.
