The Infection Prevention and Control team consists of nurse specialists who work closely with all Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital staff to provide a safe workplace environment, free from infection or contamination for patients, staff, external contractors and visitors. The team monitors infection risks to patients through a comprehensive surveillance program which identifies potential problems and initiates measures to prevent or reduce infection transmission. The team delivers in-service education including hand hygiene education to ensure compliance of staff and visitors with policies and procedures designed to limit the spread of infectious organisms and communicable disease
