Affordability
Medical treatments in the Turks and Caicos Islands are competitive compared to the United States and many other countries.
The per diem daily rate for an inpatient is $475 a day for general and maternity ward and $875 for HDU. HDU (high dependency unit) is a step down from an ICU where critically ill patients are kept until they are stable enough to be transferred overseas for further treatment.
Emergency room fees start at $280. This fee covers screening by a nurse and an evaluation by the doctor. Depending upon the triage level, this basic fee excludes any other charges such as labs, radiology or any minor emergency procedures.
